Who Doesn’t Like a Good’ol Fashion Samurai Duel?Â
The highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima has just dropped a lengthy gameplay trailer. This trailer goes into much finer detail than before and should give players a pretty decent idea of what to expect from the game. There have been a handful of short teasers here and there, but this is by far the biggest one yet.
A major PS4 exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima has managed to stand out amongst the crowd thanks to its stunning graphics and intriguing Medieval Japanese backdrop. Just like any game that is set in this very unique time period, there are many “movie like” moments that allow the player to dispatch enemies with a single attack from your katana. Single combat also seems as though it is going to play a large role too. Hopefully, this will result in some very intense showdowns. Stealth gameplay is also shown. So you do not always need to go in full blast if you would rather keep a low profile.
Exploration is going to be front and center in Ghost of Tsushima just like any worthwhile open-world game should. From what we see in the trailer, the world looks like it is filled to the brim with things to do and people to fight. The terrain varies quite wildly from open fields to thick forests and mountains.
Tsushima tasks the player to repel the Mongol invasion of Japan. While the attempts of the Mongols to invade Japan are largely remembered as failures thanks to a couple of very lucky (or unlucky) typhoons. Tsushima is going to take the alternative history approach and pretend that the typhoons never took place.
Ghost of Tsushima is set to release on July 17th for the PS4.
