Return of the Lightsabers
Tomorrow is Star Wars Day. That means that every social media account will post “May the 4th be with you”, people are going to marathon their favourite Star Wars movies, but more importantly, lightsabers are going to be showing up in every game that can justify it. For Fortnite, all the heavy lifting and work has already been done for their Fortnite x Star Wars crossover events. They just need to reactivate it, and that’s just what Epic Games has done. Starting today, you can wield these legendary laser-blades and don the special outfits.
In terms of costume items, players will be able get the Rey, Kylo Ren, and Sith Trooper cosmetics from the Item Store. If you unlocked them the last time, they should be available for you already. Emotes and Back Bling from the previous Star Wars event will be back as well. But you want to hear about the lightsabers, of course. Players can used four different lightsabers, iconic in their own way. You can use the Luke Skywalker’s green lightsaber, Kylo Ren’s red cross-guard lightsaber, Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber, or Rey’s blue lightsaber.
If this is the fake holiday you’ve been waiting for all year, you better hop to it. The Star Wars items will be going back to a galaxy far, far away at the end of May 5th. Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
