Red Dead Online Showdown Mode Gets New Maps and Extra XP

Bringing Knives to a Gun Fight

The next few days are a good time to grind away some levels in Red Dead Online. Rockstar has planned a hoedown of a showdown this weekend for the good little boys and girls social distancing at home. Until April 13th, there will be bonuses added to select gamemodes for Red Dead Online. Showdown Mode will likely be what you want to do in the wild West this weekend. Four new maps have been added and Double XP will be in effect. Also, Rockstar will be gifting 5 Gold Bars to any player that logs in before April 14th.

As far as the XP is concerned, playing any Showdown match earns you this bonus. You can also get it by playing any of this week’s Featured Series. Rockstar announced this with news of four new Showdown maps, and more modes to come in the next couple of weeks. Overrun takes place in Pike’s Basin, where players must capture the most territories to win. Plunder in Stillwater Creek will have players finding loot and bringing it back to their base. Spoils of War, in Roanoke Valley, will have one team stealing from the others’ stockpile and returning to their base. Up In Smoke will have teams trying to bring bombs to the enemy team’s base in Kamassa River. Plunder, Spoils of War, and Up In Smoke removes enemy players from the mini-map.

While these maps will be sticking around Showdown Mode, the Double XP event will be ending on April 13th. You only have a few more days to log in and pick up that 5 Gold Bar gift as well. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, Stadia, Xbox One, and PS4.
