John Wick Hex is Coming Soon
Everyone’s favorite Keanu Reeves character John Wick is coming to the PS4. Called John Wick Hex, this shooter is going to allow players to take control of the beloved assassin and take down his enemies in style. The game has been out for a couple of months now and the community and fandom that now surround the actor have seemed to really enjoy it. Reeves has become the internet’s sweetheart since the Wick movies were made a few years ago. Reeves has also dabbled in other video game work as of late making an unforgettable appearance at last year’s E3 conference for the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.
John Wick Hex is going to be arriving on the PS4 May 5th. Hex is a much slower game than what we saw in the movie. A self-proclaimed strategy game, Hex is not going to be played at a mind-numbingly fast pace as we see depicted in the films. But that might not be a bad thing. John Wick Hex plays with a lot of XCOMM undertones. While the games are still very different, there is a lot of overlap. Other indie games are going to be slowly released onto the PS4 alongside John Wick Hex. These games are Biped, Windbound, Going Under, and Boundary.
While the indie genre can sometimes get a bad wrap, it doesn’t mean you should through the baby out with the bathwater. There are still plenty of games that are worth your attention and titles like John Wick Hex are one of them. Perhaps one day we will see a triple a John Wick game.
Reeves is far from ending his time in the video game industry either. He has stated numerous times that he is still interested in playing a role in video games. What his involvement will look like exactly is anyone’s guess. But considering he has had many conversations with Hideo Kojima, chances are we might be getting another virtual version of Keanu Reeves sooner than expected.
