This is Only the BeginingÂ
Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord has been out for around two weeks now and fans are loving it. It is by no means the perfect game but the overall experience is miles better than what Warband had to offer. There is still a myriad of technical issues ranging from big to small, but they tend not the ruin your time playing the game. One of the most exciting and highly anticipated aspects of Bannerlord was going to be the mods that would inevitably flow out from the community. There have not been any overhauls yet, but there is still a large number of mods that players have access to that can really spice up a playthrough.
One of the most popular new mods allows players to really get Medieval and decapitate their enemies. I don’t know what this says about the community but we’re not here to pass moral judgment. There is something very satisfying about sending someone’s head flying across the battlefield while your riding by a group of soldiers. You can also control how often decapitations happen by adjusting a bar in the options. Obviously most people put this at 100%. This can, of course, lead to some funny moments when you behead a hostile factions general in a fight, only for you to talk to them moments after the battle is finished.
Another interesting addition that is available is called Buy Patrol. This is meant for the mid to late game when you actually start getting to hold titles and other property. This mod allows you to set up a system of patrols that look out for bandits and other evildoers. This will protect your villages and villagers from being attacked, harassed, and killed. Something that can really get in the way of collecting taxes.
