Crysis Twitter Account Shows Signs of Life After Four Years of Silence

What Does it All Mean?!

Crysis was the bee knees back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. It was leading the way in terms of both high-end graphics and creative and unique gameplay. However, since Crysis 3 was released in 2013 we have not seen anything else from the franchise. No announcements or news have come out of the social media accounts for four years. Many people had rightfully assumed that the franchise was dead. But that all ended today. For the first time since 2016, the Crysis Twitter account tweeted out a message to its followers.

The mysterious message read “RECEIVING DATA.” That’s it. While it doesn’t really give us any information about much, it is a good sign for longtime fans to see that at least one of the social media account is active once again. In predictable fashion, fans are now convinced that another Crysis game is on the way. Something that is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

The decline of Crysis as a series can be attributed to the poor financial standing of its developers Crytek. They had found themselves in a few dire situations at the beginning of the last decade. This is one of the most likely reasons that we have not heard from them in a while.

For those who have not played Crysis at all, it is a game that plays like a cross between Halo and Call of Duty. While this might not sound like the most original game of all time, it still has a lot of original ideas to offer up to its players. Adapting to the various environments and enemies that the game threw at you was a complete joy to navigate.

Do you think we will see another Crysis game in the future? Let us know in the comments.
