Halo 2 Has Now Entered Public Testing For the PC Release of the Master Chief Collection

Not Much Longer Now

Halo 2 has entered public testing for the Halo: Master Cheif Collection on PC. The bundle first launched on the Xbox One and then found its way onto PC last year. However, the PC version did not have all of the titles on it when it first launched. Kicking things off chronologically according to Halo’s storyline, Halo: Reach was the first game in the franchise to arrive on Steam. Shortly after Halo: Combat Evolved arrived and now we are waiting for Halo 2.

343 Studios tends not to be very theatric when they add a new game to the collection. When Combat Evolved eventually showed up, there was very little noise made by its developers. Most fans were just pleasantly surprised to find another game available when they logged on. Whenever Halo 2 is ready to return to the PC, chances are we will no hear much about it before it is already out.

Halo: Master Cheif Collection has run into very small amounts of bugs so far and many have contributed this smooth transition from console to desktop to the amount of time 343 puts towards testing. Taking your time really does pay off.

Halo 2 is largely regarded as one of the best games in the series. It is safe to say that longtime Halo fans are going to be especially excited about this one along with Halo 3. The second installment in the Halo trilogy was what propelled Xbox Live and console multiplayer games to what it is today. In 2004 it was one of the biggest games in the world and a huge leap forward when compared to the gameplay mechanics of the original Halo game. Despite being almost sixteen years old, Halo 2 still feels like it could have released today.

Halo: Master Chief Collection is available on Steam and the Xbox One.
