Whole ‘Nother Level
Everyone deserves a second chance at mayhem. In Borderlands 3, that chance has arrived. Borderlands 3 Mayhem 2.0 revamps the post-game content for players who want all the best Legendary gear and more challenging experience. When the game first launched, Mayhem had three levels, which could be toggled on Sanctuary III. Each level had modifiers affecting damage, loot, and overall difficulty. A little while later, a fourth level was added. Today, Gearbox has introduced a rebooted version of Mayhem with a total of 10 levels to it, and the extra difficulty will reward those who can take it on.
Gearbox released a chart detailing the level of difficulty each Mayhem level adds to the experience. There are 25 different modifiers the game randomly chooses from that may force players to change they way they normally play. Some of the modifiers are called Big Kick Energy, The Floor Is Lava, Galaxy Brain, and Drone Ranger, to name a few. It is also explained that for every additional Mayhem level, the gear that drops is better than the previous level. For example, a Legendary sniper on Mayhem 1 will be weaker than the same Legendary sniper dropped on Mayhem 2, and so on and so forth. Additionally, once a player turns on Mayhem 6, certain bosses have a chance to drop loot that cannot be found on previous levels.
As if Mayhem 2.0 wasn’t enough, Gearbox continues rolling out events that keep farming fresh. There are currently mini-events running from now to the end of May and a new seasonal event is also launching today. Borderlands 3 is out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
