Now This Is a Random Encounter
About a week ago, Square Enix announced that the physical release of the upcoming, highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake was uncertain. This is due to the COVID-19 crisis currently plaguing the world’s people and economy. Many game developers and publishers have warned of delays. Even the mighty Square Enix has been affected. In a complete reversal of events, there are reports of someone getting their copy early. The photo posted on Reddit shows a Deluxe Edition unboxed, but it is unclear as to how this person obtained it.
The contents of the Deluxe Edition are beautifully laid out on some nice cartoon-y floral bed sheets. It includes the base game, the steel book, the OST, art book, and Deluxe box. The image has since been taken down by moderators, but you can see it in GameRant’s link. Of course, we have known what is comes with this edition for a while, but it now it is in someone’s hands. The question is how? Did this person get a review copy? Did they steal it? Is his dad Mr. Square Enix? Most people think he stole it, but it cannot be confirmed at this time. They also did not reveal which retailer it came from.
For those of us who are getting the digital copy, we will just have to wait until April 10th to play it. For those of you who pre-ordered the physical copy, may Jenova be with you, because we do not know when you will be able to get it. Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available exclusively on PS4 on April 10th.
