Your Island, Your Design
If you are not yet excited about Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you may be a lost cause. However, if Nintendo has their Tom Hooks in you, you will probably enjoy and get some inspiration from this new video. A new trailer is nice and all, but with all the excitement mounting, we just want to see more and more of the game. That is why Nintendo has released a short video showing off one of the expansions of the gameplay new to the series. Decorating your home has always been a key feature of Animal Crossing, but in New Horizons, you can decorate beyond the confines of your house.
This new video is all about outdoor decoration. Nintendo provides but a taste of what players can do with their island. Examples are given, such as a garden; something that you would expect to find outside a home. However, you may not think to see an outdoor library or classroom. Other examples shown include an outdoor gym and seaside lounging area, you know, so your characters can not-tan. The video also shows the process of adding furniture and moving it. It is not like the Sims where a disembodied force highlights something and moves it. To place it, a piece of furniture pops out from your inventory, but if you want to rearrange things, you will have to physically move some items.
There will be no doubt that players will make all kinds of creative decisions for their island home. Why even have a house anymore? Just throw a bed down on the beach. Maybe an island fort is in the future of some players. We will see. Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out exclusively on Nintendo Switch on March 20th.
