Remember the humble demo disc? Back in the day, companies would include demos for new games encased in magazines or other games. For those too young to recall, a ‘magazine’ was a glossy paper casing used for getting demos and news to players in need. Anyway, a bunch of devs are putting out a haunted PS1 demo disc on itch.io next week!
The ‘disc’ will feature demos for 20 different cool, weird horror games, all featuring that delicious PS1 aesthetic you know and love. Connor, Neko Yume, SEASHELLS, OK/NORMAL, SEPTEMBER 1999, Squeltchin Maze ’96, Bleakstead, Nightmare Killer, Concrete Crown, You and the Night, Disconnected, Horror Vacui, The Space Between, TV Night, I Feel Fantastic, No One is Here, Sagebrush, \SPEK.TAKL\, I MAKE SAINTS, The Shape On The Ground, and Please Follow will all be including demos.
Haven’t heard of any of these games? That means this is the perfect opportunity to discover them! While you might not expect low-poly graphics to be a rich source of terror, they absolutely are. Picture a shoddy simulation going utterly wrong, and you’ll more or less get the picture. The Haunted PS1 demo disc is coming to itch.io on February 6th, 2020.
