Infinity Ward Is Working on Adding More Modern Warfare Class Slots

You Can Pay for School, but You Can’t Buy Class

The Call of Duty community has a reputation for being pretty toxic. From death threats against developers to the bro-gamer persona everyone seems to adopt, a vocal minority unfortunately paints CoD players in a pretty negative light. Every so often though, some of their complaints are actually well-worded and legitimate. In particular, a cry for more Modern Warfare class slots has been answered and Infinity Ward is planning on doing something about it. Currently, Modern Warfare only has 5 custom class slots, and given how many weapons and gadgets there are, 5 just doesn’t seem like enough.

Modern Warfare Class Slots

In a Reddit post on the Modern Warfare subreddit, a user clearly lays out their concern over the number of class slots. It begins with “Dear developers at Infinity Ward” and then slowly descends into “stop being so stingy!” Despite this, art director Joel Emslie answered and confirmed that this concern is being brought to the development team, but also that there are about a thousand and eleven other things they are working on. He also says that an increase in class slots is in an upcoming update, perhaps even the next one.

As most of us well know, adding things in a video game is never as simple as clicking a check mark box, so even increasing the amount of something that’s already in the game requires more work than we will ever see on our end of the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
