From America With Love
In all three Metro games, the player assumes control of the protagonist Artyom. Throughout the series, Artyom can meet his fate a couple of times, depending on the actions of the player, but in the canonical endings, he always lives to continue his story. Like the DLC in Metro: Last Light and the previous Metro Exodus DLC The Two Colonels, Sam’s Story also departs from the perspective of Artyom. Instead, Sam’s Story tells, well, Sam’s story. Sam is an American, and while that’s almost always the case for the main character in a first person shooter, it is a change for the Metro series.
Has first appeared in the main story of Metro Exodus. He was an American marine and is now a personal guard of Colonel Miller. The DLC follows Sam as he leaves the Aurora in search of a way back to the United States. Like previous Metro DLCs, Sam’s Story is likely to feature new weapons not seen in the base game. Using those expected new tools and good ol’ fashion America know-how, Sam will surely find his way back home.
Earlier today, Deep Silver released a short introduction to the DLC, so fans can get a taste of what’s to come. Metro Exodus is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Stadia. Sam’s Story will be available on all platforms two weeks from now on February 11th.
