Apex Legends Revenant Confirmed New Character

The New Legend Looks Vicious in Reveal Trailer

Apex Legends Revenant is no longer just a rumour or a hidden file. The latest trailer for season 4 of Apex Legends has confirmed Revenant as the newest playable character to be added to Apex Legends. The official season 4 website has been updated to reflect this.

Forge is dead

A tweet from the Apex Legends account gives a bit of background info on the red robot hitman.

“Revenant was once the greatest hitman the Syndicate ever had. But when his programming failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into. Hammond Robotics’ return to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead.”

The new trailer shows some of that journey. It begins with a human Revenant accepting a bounty on Marcos Andrade. Revenant goes to perform the hit in a restaurant near the top of a skyscraper. He has transformed from a human to his recognizable murderbot form. Revenant takes down a whole contingent of guards along with his intended target.

In all of the flashy fighting, we can start to glean an idea of what Revenant will bring to the game. The most important features the trailer highlights are that Revenant seems to be able to disappear in smoke and reappear behind enemies. He also seems capable of setting himself on fire which might serve to buff him in some way.

Revenant’s last appearance was in the Stories from the Outland trailer, where he murdered Forge. Both that trailer and this new one highlight the act that Revenant’s hand can turn into a blade. Whether this will amount to anything more than a unique looking melee attack has yet to be seen.

Season 4 of Apex Legends starts on February 4. Players won’t have to wait long to play the new character. Expect season 4 to turn into Apex Legends Revenant edition for at least the first week.
