The Best Fights Are Personal
Tekken 7 has been on consoles and PC since 2017 and in arcades since 2015. As 2019 draws to a close, Tekken 7 is in the middle of its third season of post-launch content. Today three new trailers have been released by Bandai Namco to showcase three of the new Tekken 7 DLC characters. These characters are the returning sumo wrestler Ganryu, the tall, scarred, tattooed Muay Thai champion Fahkumram, and the stylish wing chun master Leroy Smith. Each has their own trailer displaying their various levels of charm.
What is cool about these trailers is that the tone of each of them is so different. Fahkumram is made out to be this living weapon, almost inhuman. Meanwhile, Ganryu is parodying/stalking Julia Chang by making his own YouTube channel and streaming in front of poster board/altar to Julia. Leroy Smith’s is my personal favourite. He has his own theme song, suggested to be performed by himself. Even if you’re not a Tekken or fighting game fan, this song is going to get you hyped.
Season 3 content has already started being pushed out. So far, Zafina has been available for download and now Ganryu, Leroy Smith, and the new Frame Data Display will be launching on December 10th. Fahkumram will be available for download sometime in the Spring. Tekken 7 is out now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
