Remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Could Be Around the Corner

The Classic Skateboarding Game Could Be Making a Triumphant Return

The late 1990s and early 2000s were dominated by skateboarding games. The sport as a whole was made mainstream and millions of people were all hooked to skateboard culture. Almost everyone who was alive during that time has fond memories of playing a Tony Hawk skateboarding game at one point or another. For the time Pro Skater was well ahead of the curve. You could battle it out against your friend to see who was the best. Or you could play on your own and try and beat the high score through a long list of creative tricks. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series are undeniable classics, and we could be getting a remastered version sooner than you think.

The demand has always been there and it appears that developers are finally going to cash in on the hype. According to video game journalist Sabi, demos of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 have been circulating throughout the offices of Activision. This could always be a false alarm. But many are hopeful that this a sign that a remaster is being worked on.

We can only speculate what a remaster would actually look like. But if a remake ever does materialize, it will obviously have significantly better graphics than the original (hopefully). There was a previous attempt to try and revive the long-dormant games in 2012 with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD. However, this was a major flop as it did not really improve on much and many players had trouble even playing the game properly. Crashes on PC were common and it was not out of the ordinary for it to freeze on consoles. Needless to say, it was rushed out the door. Something that is going to have to change the second time around.
