New Crusader Kings 3 Details Surface Thanks to Video Diary

Scheming and Plotting 24/7

The highly anticipated Crusader Kings 3 is currently under development by Paradox Studios. From what we have seen so far, CK3 is shaping up to be one of the most in-depth strategy games to date. Paradox has also done a great job of keeping its fans up to date with the latest news through a series of video diaries. The diaries usually reveal new features or additions to the game and really explain how these mechanics are going to works once the game launches. The latest dev diary has shown fans how things like plots, schemes, and intrigue will work in Crusader Kings 3.

Crusader Kings 2

Firstly the courts that are going to be available to players are going to be much smaller than CK2. This is a much-needed change as in Crusader Kings 2, the court size was enormous and almost impossible to properly manage or control. There were also a lot of positions that felt redundant or meaningless. In Crusader Kings 3 this new court system is going to be a lot more manageable and have a much more noticeable impact within the game.

Plots are also getting flipped around slightly. In CK3 plots will be carried out by your spymaster in order to find out secrets about a political opponent. This could then, of course, be used for blackmail in order to gain the upper hand. It will be interesting what you are able to find out about your rivals.

Conquest is also going to be much different. Much like in Europa Universalis IV, fabricating claims will be the number one way to gain territory. In previous Crusader Kings game, conquering your neighbors could be difficult and a bit of a chore. Hopefully, this new feature is going to make the game move a little bit faster.
