In The Valley of Gods Is On Hold While Its Devs Work on Half-Life: Alyx

Donโ€™t Expect In The Valley of Gods to Come Out This Year

Itโ€™s been revealed recently that Valve developers from Firewatch studio Campo Santo are currently working with the rest of Valve on the next Half-Life game, Half-Life: Alyx. However, what does this mean for Campo Santoโ€™s previously announced adventure game, In The Valley of Gods?

Well, according to the studioโ€™s co-founder Jake Rodkin, the gameโ€™s development has stopped but, despite recent fears, hasnโ€™t been cancelled.

In The Valley of Gods

Rodkin told Polygon recently that several former Campo Santo developers are working on Half-Life: Alyx in addition to โ€œother projects at Valveโ€ such as Steam and Dota Underlords.

โ€œAs you can imagine, our experience in the first-person adventure genre is pretty relevant,โ€ Rodkin also said. โ€œYou hear a lot about how at Valve you can work on what you want. It turns out thatโ€™s true, and thereโ€™s a lot of work available. As we integrated ourselves into Valve it became clear there was a lot of valuable work to be done on Half-Life: Alyx.โ€

But Rodkin added that In The Valley of Gods โ€œcertainly feels like a project people can and may return to.โ€

โ€œAnd when that happens, weโ€™ll find an exciting way to let fans know,โ€ he said.
