Joel? Is That You? In the Last of Us 2?
The official reveal of the highly anticipated The Last of Us 2 is happening tomorrow on September 24th during PlayStation’s State of Play conference. However, that has not stopped teaser images from popping up of certain characters from the series. One of the main characters from the first game, Joel has been a big question mark as of late. No one was really sure where he was going to land in the game. The previous trailers and teasers did not feature him at all. Leading a lot of fans to speculate that he was either dead or had taken off. But now everyone’s mind can be laid to rest because images that point towards Joel have now surfaced only one day before the big unveiling of the game.
Today  Neil Druckmann, the head director of the game Tweeted out a short video of a watch with the caption, “Tick… Tick… Click…See you tomorrow.” This watch, for those who are unaware, is the same one that was given to Joel by his daughter. Thus heavily insinuating that Joel is going to make some sort of appearance at tomorrow’s big reveal. Whatever state we see him in is still unknown, but there is a very good chance we will be getting a good look at him.
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Sony and Naughty Dog. The Last of Us 2 has been waited on since it was first teased in 2016. A release date is uncertain, but it has been rumored that they are aiming to drop the game by Christmas this year. You should also expect a remastered version for the PS5.
Whatever the case may be, there are going to be a lot of excited video game nerds tomorrow. And I’ll be one of them.
