Could Baldur’s Gate 3 Eventually Make It’s Way Onto the Switch?

Baldur’s Gate 3 Developer Says “Never Say Never”

Fans of the Baldur’s Gate and Divinity franchises have been waiting to see if these titles would eventually make their way onto the Nintendo Switch. While Belgian game developer Larian Studios may have pulled off magic to bring Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition to the system, we’re still waiting to see if the same will happen with Baldur’s Gate 3. As it turns out, there might be hope yet.

According to Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian Studios, not all hope is lost for a Baldur’s Gate 3 on the Nintendo Switch. Well, maybe. While speaking on Youtube channel Nintendo Voice Chat he had this to say, “I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what the next Switches are gonna look like. On this particular Switch, that might be a bit problematic. There are quite a lot of upgrades that have been done on BG3, so I think it would be very, very hard. But then again, never say never.”

Sounds pretty unclear right at this particular moment however it does seem like they’ll try their hardest to make sure it happens, as long as the Switch becomes a bit more powerful. Vincke stated, “You never know. Maybe we’ll figure out some magic trick and it’ll work. I just hope personally as a fan the next Switch will have triple the power and triple the battery life. It’s an amazing device. I just hope it has a very long life with lots of upgrades that we can keep on playing all the games we’re playing on other consoles when we’re on the go.”

Considering it takes a while for their games to make their way to the console, Nintendo still has some time to develop a more powerful version. After all, Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition was just released onto the Switch and it’s been out since 2016 on PC. Are you hopeful that Baldur’s Gate 3 receives a Nintendo Switch version?
