No More Leaked Footage Needed, Official Marvel’s Avengers Gameplay Is Finally Here!
When Marvel’s Avengers was revealed at E3 2019, there was a whole lot of talk about the type of game it is but no gameplay was publicly shown (though it was shown behind closed doors). Then gameplay footage from San Diego Comic-Con was leaked online with videos of so-so quality.
But on Tuesday, pre-alpha gameplay was officially revealed in a nearly 19-minute video. Go ahead and check it out!
According to the video title, this gameplay is from the game’s prologue level (which is set in San Francisco). The gameplay itself shows Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, and Black Widow duking it out with henchmen who work for the nefarious Taskmaster.
The playstyles of the five Avengers are shown throughout the video and, as expected, they all appear to play pretty differently from each other. For example, Black Widow seems similar to an old-school Lara Croft with her acrobatic flips and dual pistols (which is kind of fitting since the game’s developer, Crystal Dynamics, has made several Tomb Raider games). Meanwhile, The Hulk is well…The Hulk. He smashes a lot of stuff, yells, and pulverizes bad guys. Y’know, the usual.

Marvel’s Avengers launches on May 15th, 2020 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Google Stadia.
