Turns out Keanu Reeves Could’ve Been in Death Stranding Too

According to Kojima Keanu Reeves Was Almost in Death Stranding

Recently Keanu Reeves has blasted into the gaming industry in a huge way. First he showed up on stage at E3 to announce that he’ll play a huge role in Cyberpunk 2077 and recently it was announced that he also plays a part in Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. As it turns out, he was almost in one of the most highly anticipated games of 2019: Death Stranding.

During a special panel at San Diego Comic-Con Hideo Kojima revealed that Keanu Reeves was almost in PS4 exclusive Death Stranding. According to Kojima Keanu Reeves was recommended for the game, however he went another route with Mads Mikkelsen. You can check out what he had to say below.

At this time it’s unclear exactly who recommended Keanu Reeves for the part or if he was ever really seriously being considered for the role that Mads Mikkelsen plays, but it’s still interesting nonetheless. You’ll notice too that it’s not like Kojima still got Keanu involved with one of his games, as Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain is one he developed as well. It seems more that he thought Mads was just better suited for the role within Death Stranding.

And if you’re still unsure what Death Stranding is about here’s the official game description, “In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.”

Death Stranding will be available on November 8th for the PS4. What do you think about the news that Keanu Reeves was almost in the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
