Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter Will Be Getting a New Map Soon

The Nuclear Winter Is on the Move

Fallout 76’s battle royale mode Nuclear Winter is still in beta right now, but will continue to be playable right through to the official launch. Currently, there is only one map to play on, the town of Flatwoods, but that will all change soon. At QuakeCon, Bethesda has come out with many announcements. One of which is that Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter will be getting a new map in September. Morgantown will be the next playable map on which to outlast the other Vault Dwellers.

Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter

Morgantown, being in another part of the main map from Flatwoods, will change Nuclear Winter in a few ways. On top having different locations, some of these locations have higher altitudes, even the highest point in the Wasteland. Before you kill an opponent, you can say, “It’s over, I have the high ground.” I saw a movie about that once. Not only that, but with different areas come different creatures. Nuclear Winter isn’t a walk in the park; both Wasteland creatures and other players pose threats, and different creatures can change up how you move about. There is also a large lake in the Morgantown area, which can help players up their rad levels and gain mutations.

As mentioned above, only the Flatwoods map is playable right now, but unused files suggest that there are even more maps on their way. A map of Morgantown is among those unused files as well as Charleston and Harpers Ferry. This tells us that those two areas will probably be implemented in the future of Nuclear Winter. No official release date of Morgantown, but the announcement suggests it will be coming in September.
