More of the Same and a Return to the Classics
Call of Duty Modern Warfare made a splash when it was announced only a few months ago. The return of classic and beloved characters like Captian Price and Soap captivated millions of fans of the older style of Call of Duty games. Namely, Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2. Call of Duty Modern Warfare also received tons of media attention after reports came out about how graphic and disturbing the gameplay demos were. However, there is no such thing as bad press and the buzz surrounding the game has stayed strong so far.
More rumors have come out. The next Call of Duty could contain a battle royale mode. Much like the one in Balck Ops 4. These are leaks from the YouTube gaming channel TheGamingRevolution. The channel cites an anonymous source saying that there will be a battle royale mode present in the game. The apparent leak also states that the developers are toying with the idea of an infected game mode as well. Additionally, the source has said that Gun Game will be making a return to the franchise, the Pave Low killstreak is supposedly coming back too.
The reactions from the Call of Duty fanbase has been mostly negative toward the idea of having a battle royale mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Battle royale is seen by many gaming fans as an oversaturated and boring game mode at this point. The addition of a battle royale mode in Black Ops 4 was also met with criticism. Many see it as a blatant cash grab. Just a massive corporation trying to squeeze every dollar out of a fad.
If there is a battle royale mode then don’t expect a Fortnite style game. Or even Black Ops 4. Call of Duty Modern Warfare is allegedly the slowest and most strategic COD ever. So there is no reason why the battle royale mode wouldn’t play similar to that. Expect a similar style to PUBG.
