Shoot, Loot, and Shloot
Gearbox is pretty bold. They just put out information on both a new Borderlands game and new content for an old Borderlands game. The new trailer titled “We Are Mayhem” (aptly named) does not pull punches. We see all our new Vault Hunters and their abilities in action, working together. The new Borderlands 3 trailer also gives us an update on Lilith, I mean Commander Lilith (that DLC is out now, by the way). Apparently, she is no longer a Siren. She loses her powers, possibly during the new Borderlands 2 DLC Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary. Now, she’s just a regular deadly badass.
Lilith narrates the trailer. She describes the Vault Hunters’ encounter with the Calypso Twins and the Children of the Vault in a kind of my-way-or-the-highway type deal. But that really is not the Vault Hunters’ style, now is it? They may live to regret that though. Probably the most exciting part of the trailer is our new Vault Hunters. Though it is not actual gameplay, we see them working together dealing out death to all who challenge them. It’s hard not to be reminded about Overwatch when watching this trailer.
We got D.Va, I mean Moze, who digistructs a mech around herself. We also have Zane the not-Tracer, who blinks out of danger and flanks his enemies. There is also Amara, who has a bunch of extra Zenyatta-arms. If it sounds like I am bashing the Vault Hunters, I’m not; just pointing out similarities. FL4K is Bastion. Borderlands 3 is out on September 13th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
