The Last of Us 2 Will Not be a PlayStation 5 Exclusive

The Naughty Dog Giant Will Not be Solely Available for the PS5

The recent teasings and hints about the new PlayStation 5 have meant the eventual death of the PS4. It is sad but true. Sony will just plainly stop putting time and resources into their older console once the PS5 becomes their main focus. This, of course, hasn’t happened yet. But it will. It’ll take a couple of years but eventually, the PS4 will become an afterthought in the minds of Sony. As saddening as that may be, there is good news.

The Last of Us 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4!

Jim Ryan, the Sony CEO just pledged that the PS4 still has a bunch of exclusive AAA games to come. So the future isn’t so bleak after all. Other titles like Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima will also be available for the PS4. But the big one is definitely The Last of Us 2.

The Last of Us 2’s release date is suspected to be announced at this years E3 in June along with much more info surrounding a game that has been relatively tight-lipped. The PlayStation 5 is also going to be there. This E3 is going to be the launching point of the next generation of consoles.

It is still nice to hear that the PS4 will not be totally left in the dust. Especially with the cross-platform backward compatibility that will be available between the PS4 and the PS5. It looks as though that Sony wants the transition from each of their consoles to be as seamless as possible. Which is much appreciated.

What do you think? How long does the PS4 have left? Are you surprised that The Last of Us 2 will be available for the PS4? Be sure to let us know in the comments as well as on Twitter and Instagram.
