Mod Support Will Not be a Thing Upon Release
Bad news. Cyberpunk 2077 will not have mods at launch. This does mean that they could be added in later as many other titles have. Saints Row 4, Skyrim and a bunch of other titles have all eventually worked mods into their games, months or sometimes years after release. CD Projekt Red has stated that they will not rule out the possibility. So who knows. They did eventually give The Wicher 3 mod support so it isn’t a crazy thing to wish for.
The developers said that they instead wanted to focus on other aspects of the game, rather than focus on mods. To fair, it is not hard to see where they are coming from. From what we have seen of Cyberpunk 2077, the game is beyond big. The detail and gargantuan setting are hard enough to get right. Let alone giving players the availability of mods.
Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for a very long time now so it seems as though CDÂ Projekt Red are just trying to get a solid game out of the door without having to worry about secondary content like mods. Fans should be understanding of what the developers are trying to do. Recreating the Cyberpunk universe is no easy feat.
The game is expected to make a significant appearance at this years E3. So we can all see what they have been up to as of late. It has already been confirmed that there will not be a playable demo at the display but who knows what else they will have in store. Maybe a release date?
What do you think? Is this the right move by the developers? Be sure to let us know in the comments as well as on Twitter and Instagram.
