Respawn Has Called Dealing with the Apex Legends Lag a Priority
Though Apex Legends came out pretty strong out of the gate as an impressive, forward-thinking battle royale, it there may have been a few small missteps since. With a mixed reception about the Season 1 battle pass and some terrible lag, Respawn has now addressed the issue stating that fixing this lag is a huge priority for them.
A quick Google search of Apex Legends lag shows off a slew of videos trying to help players get past the frustrating issue in order to have a better experience. As it turns out however, Respawn is definitely aware of the problem of lag in their latest title and is looking for a fix, making this resolution its highest priority.
Here’s what they had to say about the issue, “So far, we know that it affects some data centers more than others, it happens on many different server configurations, and it doesn’t seem to hit multiple server instances running on the same machine. In other words, it’s not that a machine is overloaded and everything on it is running too slow – it’s that one instance on the same machine seems to be doing more work than the others, and we’re trying to nail down what work it’s doing and work backwards to understand the root cause. This is extremely high priority for us, and we’ll keep you updated on our progress.”
While there’s no current ETA on when the fix will arrive, fingers crossed it’s out soon for all. Apex Legends is currently out now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC as a free-to-play battle royale.
