PlayStation Store Users Could Benefit From This Refund Policy Change
Sony recently changed the refund policy of the PlayStation Store to give the store’s users at least 14 days to refund their purchases to their PlayStation Network wallets. This policy change applies to games, DLC, themes, season passes, avatars, and add-ons bought on the platform that haven’t been downloaded or streamed yet.
“After purchasing this type of content through PlayStation Store, you have 14 days from purchase to request a refund to your wallet on PlayStation Network,” Sony explained. “If you started to download or stream the purchased content you are not eligible for a refund unless the content is faulty. To request a refund for Games, DLC, Add-ons content, please contact PlayStation support.”
When it comes to pre-orders, users who’ve pre-ordered a product on the store more or less than 14 days from release will be able to get a refund “at any time up until the release date of the content.”
Online subscriptions for PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and Spotify Premium on PlayStation Music can also be refunded within 14 days but your refund amount will depend on how long you’ve had the subscription, said Sony.
“For example, if you buy a PlayStation Plus 12-Month Membership and request a refund seven days after the purchase date, the refund amount may be reduced to reflect any use of the subscription, such as playing online, downloading monthly games, using cloud storage, [etcetera],” Sony added.
