New Days Gone Story Trailer Gives a More Personal Look at the Protagonist

Days Gone Comes Out on April 26th

A new Days Gone story trailer that showcased the game’s protagonist, Deacon St. John, was revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play presentation on Monday.

Set a few years after a viral epidemic that created many zombie-like creatures known as “Freakers”, the game follows the personal story of Deacon, who’s an ex-biker gang member and, seemingly, an apathetic gun-for-hire.

Aside from Deacon, the trailer also shows some glimpses at other story characters and various environments in the game’s open world (which is set in Oregon).

Other Days Gone news: it’ll have post-launch content and a photo mode.

“The vast Central Oregon wilderness is so beautifully crafted and rendered in Days Gone it’s easy to forget that you’re playing a game,” the game director of Days Gone said of the photo mode. “Our aim with Photo Mode was to make players feel like they’re manipulating a real camera in the real world.”

“Of course, this includes features that people expect to come standard these days,” the director continued. “From the Characters panel, users can toggle character and bike visibility as well as select from a library of facial expressions.”
