Doom Eternal’s Composer Is Looking for ‘Heavy Metal Screamers’

Doom Eternal’s Composer Plans On Making Music That Features Screaming

The composer behind Doom Eternal’s official soundtrack is currently looking for “Heavy Metal Screamers” for a video game that he’s writing music for. This could be for a music track in Doom Eternal or for some other game.

“I’m currently writing music for a video game and I really want to record a choir,” the composer, Mick Gordon said in the video posted above. “But for this project, I don’t want to record a regular choir; I want to record a choir made up entirely of Heavy Metal Screamers.”

“To the best of my knowledge, I don’t believe this has ever been done before. Therefore, here is an open invitation to anyone out there who wants to apply to join our Heavy Metal Choir,” Gordon also said.

Here are the requirements for the choir:

  • We’re looking for all types of screamers.
  • Your level of experience doesn’t matter.
  • We’re looking for all genders.
  • As long as you’re over 18, it doesn’t matter how old you are.

Possible participants have until February 1st to send in their demos for the choir and those who are picked will be paid and credited for their work.

Notably, people who want to join the choir will also have to be able to travel to Austin, Texas “for a recording session in the first week of March 2019.”

Bethesda Game Studios has a development studio in Austin which worked on the multiplayer for 2016’s Doom reboot so this choir could be featured in the upcoming Doom game and the URL & title of the choir webpage on Gordon’s official website has a “666” part in it. “666” is a demonic number in the Bible and Doom is all about fighting demons from Hell.

However, the fact that Gordon said that he was working “on a video game” instead of specifically saying “Doom Eternal” could also mean that he’s working on an unannounced game.
