Why So Many Donuts, For Example
Fans of the No More Heroes series may have some questions after seeing the latest trailer for Travis Strikes Again. Well, maybe just one question. There are an unusual amount of doughnuts involved in this adventure. There’s also mayhem and electric madness and sweet graphics, yes, but the doughnut levels are rather high.
I hate to harp on this doughnut business, but they’re bouncy and sugary and in at least three different shots in a single minute. None of this even approaches the bizarre nature of the game itself, which is a side-scrolling arcade adventure unlike anything previously seen in the No More Heroes series to date. Yes, the lasers and madness are on brand, but everything else is pretty starkly out of left field.
On a more positive note, the game’s overall tone appears strictly in line with the series. I can scarcely even imagine what these games would be like without that Grasshopper style of lunacy that drips from basically every frame. Thankfully we don’t have too much longer to wait before this latest entry is released into the wild. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes will be out on the Nintendo Switch on January 18th, 2019.
