Saber Interactive Unsuccessfully Pitched Multiplayer for Days Gone

Sony Wants to Keep Main Days Gone Focus

Originally debuting back at E3 2016 – Days Gone ended up drawing a lot of comparisons to another Sony-Exclusive Zombie Genre title. With the game finally sent to launch this April, some interesting tidbits from along the development pipeline are coming out through various interviews.

Originally reported by Wccftech at GamesBeat, Mark Karch of Saber Interactive said that they approached Sony with their work on World War Z- an upcoming co-op shooter also coming in the new year- as a basis for a multiplayer component, but the conversation didn’t get very far.  Matt’s full quote on the matter;

Days Gone, it’s a single-player experience. At some point I went to Sony and said, “I’ve seen what you’re doing with Days Gone. Look what we’re doing with World War Z. Maybe we can help you with a multiplayer component.” But they were obviously too focused, and understandably, on what they needed to do to get that game out.

Maybe in another time and another place, these two companies would have combined their powers but for now, it’s not in the cards.

Days Gone is launching April 26,2019 exclusively for Playstation 4.
