Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries Set to Launch in September 2019
Yesterday, during MechCon 2018 game developer Piranha Games announced that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will launch in September of next year. Alongside the specific release date announcement, the studio also dropped a sweet new trailer and some brand new screenshots to get you pumped for its release.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries was originally supposed to be released sometime this year, however back in June it was delayed until 2019. At the time Piranha Games said the delay was to ensure they “can deliver the best single-player MechWarrior experience to date.” If you’re a fan of the MechWarrior series you’ll know that Mercenaries is the first single-player, first-person action title created in the BattleTech universe in almost 17 years, as MechWarrior 4: Vengeance dropped in 2002. So when will MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries be available to jump into the action? According to this latest announcement it will be released on Sept 10th, 2019.
If you haven’t heard too much about the upcoming title, here’s what Piranha Games has to say about it: “MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will allow pilots to build, manage and guide their own mercenary unit through a multi-year campaign during the sprawling Third and Fourth Succession Wars. Whether braving missions alone, alongside AI-controlled pilots, or with the help of up to three friends via co-op play, players will face complicated situations with no perfect solution as they choose which contracts to accept, where in the galaxy to direct their attention, and how to balance repairs or upgrades with maintaining their unit’s precious resources.” You can check out the brand new video and screenshots from MechCon 2018 below.
