The Perfect Valentine’s Day Gift for the Civilization VI Fan in Your Life
The second Civilization VI expansion, Civilization VI: Gathering Storm, is scheduled to come out on February 14, 2019 for the PC, according to an official press release. The upcoming expansion includes nine new leaders from eight new civilizations along with new scenarios such as “The Black Death” and “War Machine”.
While “The Black Death” scenario is about the player leading their civilization through the infamous bubonic plague that killed millions of Europeans during the 14th century, “War Machine” is a multiplayer scenario about Germany fighting France in opening stages of the Western Front of World War One.
Gathering Storm will also add new environmental effects such as volcanoes, a variety of storms, and climate change. It’ll also have new engineering projects such as flood barriers and introduce a 21st century time period for technology & civics.
The expansion will include some gameplay changes as well: “The Espionage system will be enhanced with new options. In addition, the Culture and Science Victories have been updated, new Historic Moments have been added and additional improvements have been made to other existing systems.”
Additionally, Gathering Storm will have loads of new content involving “seven new world wonders, seven natural wonders, 18 new units, 15 new improvements, nine new buildings, five new districts, two new city sets, nine new techs and 10 new civics”.
