Fortnite Fortnitemares Cube Finale Makes Some Cool Changes to Leaky Lake
Just a little while ago Fortnite’s mysterious cube created quite the spectacle, with an epic ending to Fortnitemares. This finale, while utterly cool, wasn’t just all for show either, bringing with it some big changes to Leaky Lake.
In case you missed the Fortnitemares finale, it was rather amazing, with the cube first rotating, and then exploding, transporting players into a mysterious and peaceful white world with butterflies. After this, players were then dropped from the sky back to the game, where Leaky Lake looked just a wee bit different than before. You can check out this finale and the changes to Leaky Lake below.

As you can see, the Floating Island is now gone, as is this mysterious cube and in its place Leaky Lake has returned boasting a new look with a lot more land to play on. Now, while these changes are all aesthetic, they are sure to impact how many players frequent Leaky Lake. With less water and more land, this area of the map no longer carries the same risks it did back when it was named Loot Lake. Gone are the days where you had to either slowly dredge through water to get to the middle island, or build your way there.
While some players have been quick to point out that the map now looks a bit like the old Moisty Mire, which was destroyed a couple seasons ago, the two are very, very different. Sure, Leaky Lake now features more land and more greenery however, Moisty Mire had a bunch of massive trees while this revamped map has very few.
