The Regular Xbox One Is Also Going to Get a Price Drop
A disc-less version of the Xbox One is planned to launch sometime next Spring, according to a report from the news outlet Thurrott. There’s also going to be a “disc-to-digital” program that will allow users to exchange their game discs for digital download codes for those games sometime in the future.
Also according to the report: “Currently, it costs about $299 to buy into the Xbox One family of devices, Microsoft is looking to lower that price by possibly as much as $100; the new console price point is expected to be $200 or less.”
When it comes to the next Xbox console, Microsoft is “trying to decide if that console will include a disc drive but should be making the final decision here shortly.”
What do you think of this news? Are you interested in buying a disc-less Xbox One or are you sticking with the Xbox One that you already own? Does the “disc-to-digital” program sound like a good idea? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
