No Man’s Sky Abyss Update Out Today

Everything’s Better Down Where It’s Wetter

Hello Games released yet another update for No Man’s Sky today, known as the Abyss Update. This time the focus is on underwater adventures. And also some horrors! But that’s the fun of the ocean. A lot of it is very concerned with killing you.

No Man's Sky Abyss Update

Version 1.7 brings more aquatic life, cooler environments to explore and better graphics whilst messing about in the murky depths. Yes there’s awesome materials to find, but they tend to be guarded by somewhat territorial creatures. Apparently there’s predator fish down there that are bigger than some starships? That’s too much fish, you guys. Also the update mentions something called the Abyssal Horror, which can only be good news.

You can check out the update trailer below, which shows off all of this crazy stuff and more. Like the bases! You could recreate Sealab 2021 down there! All you would need is a crew full of crazy idiots and you’d be set. The gear for exploring the ocean seems oddly anachronistic, but maybe that’s the sort of thing we perfected early. Or maybe older stuff just looks inherently better. The Abyss Update, along with No Man’s Sky, is out now on PC, PS4 and the Xbox One. You can check out all the details of the update here.
