Prepare to Break It Early
For the loyal fanbase eagerly awaiting Fallout 76 beta news, you needn’t look further. Alongside the game’s opening cinematic trailer, Bethesda has revealed the start date for each platform. Xbox One players will have first access.
We’ve already seen the Virginia wasteland, so the video above is focused on contextualization. Anyone who’s played previous installments will already know about the war described in the footage, and, once again, will here the tagline: “war never changes,” which is why everyone has to rebuild. That’s the pervasive theme, and we witness that enthusiasm right up to the start of the first mission.
Xbox One players can start rebuilding the Wasteland on October 23. Vault doors will open for PC and PlayStation 4 a week later, on October 30th. However, early participation is only available to those who pre-order the game. As Bethesda explained in a statement, the player count will start small and expand as the beta gets underway:
“Starting in October we’ll be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game from a participating retailer to enter our B.E.T.A.,” the community administrator wrote. “We’ll start small and grow over time as we prepare for launch. Be sure you’ve read our F.A.Q., for details on how to redeem your B.E.T.A. code and other important details.”
According to the FAQ above, the Fallout 76 beta will go live at intervals of 4 to 8 hours and has no set end date. Servers won’t be live 24/7, because devs will be systematically erasing the bugs as they spawn. As such, they will constantly update the community on when servers will be available.
