Death Stranding Will Have a Stage Show at TGS 2018

Maybe This Time We’ll Finally Understand What’s Going On With This Game?

Update (9/11/2018): Kojima Productions tweeted on Tuesday that new info about the game won’t be revealed at TGS.

Original Story:

Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s delivery man simulator, will have a stage show at this year’s Tokyo Game Show on September 23rd, Kojima Productions announced on Wednesday.

Kojima & the cast of the Japanese version of Death Stranding will be involved in this TGS stage show, according to the announcement, but there was noticeably no mention of a gameplay demo or a new story trailer.

The mysterious PS4 exclusive was shown earlier this year during Sony’s E3 conference with a trailer. The trailer had a few snippets of gameplay and revealed two new characters but no release date or release window was given.

Not much is known about the game aside from its story premise:

“Besieged by death’s tide at every turn, Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.”
