Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s Enemies Look Pretty Dang Dangerous

Here Are the Things That Want to Kill You

Less than a month before release, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal are untethering more details about Shadow of the Tomb Raider. This time, they brought us a short preview of the enemies we’ll see in the jungle.

The new footage introduces a new and elite class of enemy operatives. While Lara’s key asset in the past has been stealth, her newest enemies come with night vision goggles. Apparently, she will also be going head-to-head against the indigenous warriors. That’s not to say her biggest enemies are human, because the trailer also grants a glimpse of eels, piranhas, and the jaguar. Catch all of the jungle madness in the trailer down below.

As it so happens, Eidos Montreal is doubling doing on the Tomb Raider combat we all know and love. Basically, Lara Croft’s discovered more ways to eliminate her enemies. And while some methods might be more brutal (and fun) than others, it looks like the upped enemy difficulty might counteract Croft’s latest quirks. It’s also typical of Tomb Raider games to introduce challenging supernatural elements, but only time will tell if Eidos left a special boss in the jungle. For a better idea of story, combat, and traversal in the game, you can catch our gameplay preview here.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will launch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 14th, 2018.
