Capcom Is Looking Into Developing More Remakes

The RE2 Remake Is Making An Impact and Itโ€™s Not Even Out Yet

A recent Capcom Q&A revealed that due to the positive reception of the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake and their sales expectations for it, the company is considering developing more remakes and re-releases.

Capcom said that when it came to remakes and re-releases of titles in their โ€œback catalogโ€, they โ€œexpect to explore these further with a variety of properties as a part of our strategy to utilize our library of IP.โ€

Some Resident Evil fans have speculated that if the RE2 remake is a success then the 1999 survival horror classic Resident Evil 3 could get remade as well.

Notably, Capcom also stated that the anticipated remake and Devil May Cry 5 are both impacting the sales of previous entries in their series.

โ€œWe are beginning to see signs of customers purchasing previous titles in these series, including DmC: Devil May Cry,โ€ Capcom said. โ€œWe plan to execute a number of marketing strategies to stimulate sales of these catalog titles in order to further build out the fan base of each series in the future.โ€
