The Developer Said That the Images Are ‘Most Likely’ Fanmade
During the past weekend, several images that appeared to be leaked screenshots from The Wolf Among Us 2 were spotted online. However, the series developer, Telltale Games, recently confirmed that those screenshots weren’t official.
“I want to clarify: that image definitely did not come from us,” explained Scott Butterworth, a Telltale spokesperson. “It is not a leak, nor a reveal. It’s most likely something a fan created.”
Notably, the unofficial screenshots were also spotted on the website of Funlabs, a developer that worked on The Walking Dead Collection. Those screenshots were eventually removed from their website’s gallery section.
As for The Wolf Among Us 2 itself, it was announced in May that the game was getting delayed to 2019. At the time, Telltale said that, “This delay comes as the result of a few fundamental changes here at Telltale since we first announced the game last summer.”
The developer added that the delay would “allow us not only to focus on quality but also to experiment and iterate in order to craft something truly special.”
“Ultimately our goal is to deliver an experience deserving of the passion you’ve consistently shown for The Wolf Among Us, and these extra months will give us the time we need to do our best work,” Telltale said. “We’re extremely enthusiastic about how the game is progressing so far, and we can’t wait to dig even deeper.”
