Shadow of the Tomb Raider Is Nearing Launch
Shadow of the Tomb Raider has officially gone gold, according to an official announcement made on Tuesday. The upcoming game is scheduled to release on September 14th.
“Shadow of the Tomb Raider has gone gold! Lara’s defining moment is out of Eidos-Montreal’s hard-working hands & on its way to manufacturing,” tweeted the official Tomb Raider account on Tuesday.
Eidos-Montreal is mainly known for their work on the recent Deus Ex games and had developed Shadow of the Tomb Raider in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, the developer of the first two Tomb Raider reboot games.
Lara Croft’s latest adventure takes her to South America, where she has to stop a Mayan apocalypse that she accidentally caused. Lara must also contend with Trinity, the extremist organization from the previous game.
Recently, a new gameplay video showed a hidden city that Lara will be able to explore during the game. The city is named Paititi and Eidos-Montreal has described the sprawling metropolis as the largest hub world ever created for the series.
