Brown Will Grace Cover of Madden NFL 19
Back in May, EA Sports showcased the Madden NFL 19 Hall of Fame Edition featuring Terrell Owens on the cover who is also a Hall of Fame Inductee himself. Today it was announced that Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is the cover athlete for the standard edition of Madden NFL 19. This announcement coming later than usual for the franchise.
It’s unclear why EA waited so long but alas Brown is the official cover athlete. The delay may have had something to do with a few unfortunate incidents leading up to this year’s release. These incidents; however, have nothing to do with Brown. Terrell Owens’ induction has become a source of controversy as he has chosen to skip the induction ceremony and to instead deliver a speech at his alma mater Tennessee Chattanooga. The Hall of Fame will counter by refusing to honor Owens individually.
Also, Madden senior producer Carlos Guerrero was dismissed after violating the company’s code of conduct policy. This, according to an article in Forbes.
In any case, Brown is on the cover and is a great pick. Many would argue he is the best wide receiver in the NFL. He’s coming off his fifth straight season with at least 1,200 yards, 100 receptions, and eight touchdown catches. He’s a true stud, no doubt about that.
We should also note that back in May the publisher revealed the pre-order bonuses. If you pre-order the Standard Edition you will receive the choice of one Elite Player from your favorite NFL team, and five Gold Team Fantasy Packs. If you pre-order the Hall of Fame Edition you’ll receive all of that and more including the choice of five Elite Hall of Fame Legends in MUT, one Training Pack, and seven more Gold Team Fantasy Packs. Oh, and you’ll have access to the game three days before release, on August 7th. And of course, if you’re a member of EA Access you’ll receive some more perks, including 10 percent off the game when you pre-order, as well as access to the game even earlier on August 2nd!
Madden NFL 19Â releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 10.
