Death Stranding Story Details Have Officially Been Revealed
When Death Stranding was first revealed back in 2016 the excitement for another Hideo Kojima title was through the roof, something that has waned little since then. Over the last two years there have been multiple trailers and extended looks at Death Stranding, yet it still feels like we don’t know anything about it. Thankfully, Sony has decided to throw us a bone, revealing some exciting story details about the highly anticipated game.
As Kojima has been vague at every turn, which is his usual fashion, many fans have been left scratching their heads after each and every snippet of gameplay shown. Now, that may have just changed a bit as Sony has come out a bit more directly and revealed some official story details about Death Stranding. On the game’s newest trailer from E3 2018 on YouTube, PlayStation has provided the following description: “Besieged by death’s tide at every turn, Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.”
Though this still remains quite ambiguous, there are a few pieces of information that can be pulled. First, it seems Death Stranding is not just the title of the game, but also the creatures that drive the story narrative forward. Second, it seems Sam is the only person that can bring the shattered world back to normal and save the earth from what appears to be a limbo between life and death. Lastly, although it didn’t seem like the hype for the game could increase in any way, by calling the game a “genre defining experience” Sony has raised the bar even more, setting the expectations even higher!
