Behold Kratos and Atreus as Figurines
Sony has proven that virtually every advertising avenue is within reach; we’ve seen them collaborate with Fiesta Bowl and the NBA. For their latest ad, they’ve decided on a collaboration with Adult Swim show Robot Chicken to advertise God of War on the PS4 Pro.
As is the hallmark of Robot Chicken, we see Kratos and Atreus, aka ‘boy,” animated through stop-motion capture. Like the show, they’re presented in the form of figurines who play parodies of the source material. Exactly as one might imagine, it’s Kratos trying to teach his son the ways of combat, only through basketball in this particular instance. Oh, yes, Mimir is in the ad too. Earlier during this console generation, we might have put it past Sony to form these kinds of collaborations. But, the company is on a roll with the quality of its exclusives and risks no shame in exposing their brand further. The beginning of this year witnessed the first PS4 Pro TV spot; 2018 may witness a bigger push for the 4K console. With that in mind, there’s no telling where else we’ll see Sony. It’s only a matter of time before we see God of War referenced in cinema if you ask me. Stay tuned for updates on the warpath to E3 2018.
