SEGA Teases New Sonic Racing Game, New Info Coming Soon

Is Sega Planning an E3 Reveal Next Month?

New details, and possibly even a reveal, is coming soon regarding Sega’s mystery Sonic racing game that was teased at SXSW in March.

During an official live stream this week, it was hinted that “more news and information” would be revealed about the game very soon. Aaron Webber, who belongs to Sega’s social media and PR team had this to say:

“A lot of you have been waiting for news and information, and you’re very curious about what that title was that we teased back at South by Southwest, and at least in the near future, you might be hearing some more news and information about that. So hey, that’s coming up. Get ready. It’s on the horizon.”

With E3 2018 just a couple weeks away, it’s entirely possible a worldwide reveal is being planned. When speaking about E3 next month, Webber said that Sega will have more news regarding its E3 plans “very soon” and that there will be some “cool stuff to talk about.”

Two months ago, at SXSW, Sega announced Sonic Mania Plus, an updated version of its retro-inspired 2D Sonic game released a year ago. They also revealed a new animated series based on Sonic Mania before teasing a new Sonic Racing game. The last game Sonic racing game was Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, which was originally released in 2012. Since then, it has accumulated a rather rabid fanbase and is considered to be one of the better kart racing games out there.
