The Katana in the Stone: Tweet Teases Ghost of Tsushima for E3

Sucker Punch’s Next Big Open-World Game Is Going to Be at E3!

An animation director tweeted an interesting image on Wednesday that teased the upcoming E3 presentation for Sucker Punch’s next game, Ghost of Tsushima. You can view the tweet below!

It has already been confirmed that the game will be shown at Sony’s E3 conference next month and an in-engine trailer was shown last year. Presumably, gameplay will be revealed at E3 but that isn’t a given.

There are currently only a few details known about Ghost of Tsushima. All that’s known so far is that it’s an open-world game set in 13th century Japan and players will take control of a samurai fighting against the Mongol army.

An official description has a little more info:

The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan–until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting–the way of the Ghost–as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.”

Sony boss Shuhei Yoshida called the upcoming game Sucker Punch’s biggest open-world game yet and, according to Sucker Punch Creative Director Nate Fox, the entire game will be playable with a Japanese dub.

Ghost of Tsushima doesn’t have a release date yet but it is a PS4 exclusive.
