Go Back in Time to Vietnam in Far Cry 5’s First DLC Adventure
Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 5‘s first post-launch DLC, Hours of Darkness, will arrive on June 5th for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Hours of Darkness transports players back in time to a war-torn Vietnam, a stark contrast from the main game’s rural Montana setting. You play as Wendell “Red” Redler, a soldier and citizen of Hope County (and who is seen in the main as well), “who must find and rescue his fellow squad members from hostile forces during the Vietnam War.”
The DLC adventure includes new gear and abilities while also adding two new modes that are unlocked after completing Hours of Darkness: Survivor Mode and Action Movie Mode. The former ups the challenge of the DLC by limiting players’ load outs while the latter does the opposite by providing a generous load out to deliver “over-the-top action.” Cool!
Ubisoft also announced that they have added Vietnam-themed assets into Far Cry Arcade so creators can begin building new maps and experiences.
Hours of Darkness can be purchased starting June 5th either as a standalone pack or as part of Far Cry 5’s Season Pass and Gold Edition.
Hours of Darkness is the first of three planned DLC adventures for Far Cry 5. Lost on Mars and Dead Living Zombies will release in July and August. Ubisoft states that all future DLC’s will include thematic assets for use in Far Cry Arcade.
